Its prime location, above the 600-acre resort town of Anse Chastanet, makes Jade Mountain Resort one of the most romantic hotels in the world. The luxury resort, located on the southwest coast of Saint Lucia in the Caribbean, is a veritable feast of organic architecture designed to showcase the island’s unparalleled natural beauty.
Nick Troubetzkoy, architect and owner of Jade Mountain St. Lucia, developed his philosophy of green building in the Caribbean. Jade Mountain St. Lucia is one of the most mesmerizing resort experiences in the Caribbean, thanks to its striking architectural style. The resort features individual decks leading to unique retreats into an infinity pool and steep stone-faced columns rising skyward. With its open-air restaurant, attentive staff, and tranquil atmosphere (no TVs or kids allowed), this hotel is ideal for a romantic getaway.
Jade Mountain: accommodation
There are a total of 29 suites, dubbed sanctuaries in the resort, 24 of which have infinity pools. Each suite is unique, thanks to its tint of glass. Upon arrival, guests cross private, movie-like bridges before arriving at expansive areas that include living rooms, bedrooms, and private infinity pools cantilevered over the landscape. The shrines atop Jade Mountain are like stage sets, with no dividing wall preventing visitors from enjoying the stunning views of the Caribbean Sea and the Pitons, a World Heritage Site on the island of St. Lucy.
Each sanctuary has a fifteen-foot ceiling height and a transparent fourth wall that lets in natural light but blocks out noise. Apart from the essential features, the layout and size of each shrine is distinct. The square footage of the sanctuary and the size of the pool prompted the development of four price categories for infinity pool sanctuaries: Star, Moon, Sun, and Galaxy. There are 24 Infinity Pool Suites and 5 Sky Hot Tub Suites, each with a two-person hot tub. Despite the lack of a beach, couples seeking seclusion will feel at home here (the nearest beach is accessible by a short shuttle ride or moderate hike).
Jade Kitchen at Jade Mountain Club
The Jade Mountain Club offers memorable dining experiences for hotel guests that pay homage to the “Jade Cuisine”, the creation of James Beard Award-winning Chef Allen Susser. Chef Allen Susser, who has created a new world of exotic flavors with his “Jade Cuisine”, has imbued Jade Mountain Club dishes with exotic beauty and infused them with an explosion of flavors.
His eclectic, decadent and fusional cuisine has taken Saint Lucia cuisine to new heights. The food is a unique fusion of styles and techniques from around the world that will take your taste buds on an enduring journey. The Jade Mountain Club is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a range of cuisines and live entertainment. One of the best jazz musicians on the island or a classical acoustic guitarist performs live on several nights. The Heavenly Terrace, which floats above the Jade Mountain Club, is a fantastic spot for sunset drinks and stargazing.
Spa Experiences at Jade Mountain
Spa treatments are accessible at the boutique St. Lucia spa, Kai en Ciel, and in the privacy of each guest’s infinity pool. Additionally, visitors to Jade Mountain have access to the treatment facilities at the Kai Belté Spa on Anse Chastanet Beach and the Kai Mer Thermal Residence. Traditional Western body and aesthetic treatments coexist with exotic Ayurvedic and holistic choices in the extensive spa menu.
In addition to private yoga classes, Jade Mountain also offers free yoga classes. Cybex manufactures the cardio and weight machines for the Jade Mountain Fitness Center. Hotel guests are welcome to use the estate’s bike paths at Anse Mamin for morning and afternoon jogging. Plus, the 600-acre estate offers guided tours and daily walks.
The Alchemy of Two, a spa treatment designed to enhance a couple’s appreciation for each other, is popular among newlyweds. In a hot tub infused with Body Bliss Elixir Male and Elixir Female Oils, the couple share sweet delights and poetry, reflecting the give and take aspects of their relationship. Part of the process is vibratory tantra, used to massage the pair in unison as they stand side by side. The journey ends with the anointing of the man with Elixir Male and the woman with Elixir Female at strategic energy points.
